Public parks are the lungs of the localities where residents come and refresh their tired and fatigued minds. But in our colony, the park is not well maintained or say not at all maintained.
It suffers from the utter neglect of the authorities. The residents of nearby Basti are using the area as a public convenience. Many rowdies create disturbance and do not help in the upkeep of the park has become the favorite halting-place of stray cattle and dogs. Miscreants sit and gamble here in the broad daylight.
They, in reality, the park has become a hub of activity for all types of evil characters. If no immediate action is not taken, the park will turn into a devil’s den and would become a being cause of nuisance for the colony.
I hope the authorities concerned will take immediate steps in the matter.

the attention of the Government towards the problem of the lack of a bus stop in the area near Mayur Vihar Aparna Apartments.
These apartments are spread up to a radius of at least 4 km and are situated on the main road of Mayur Vihar. One can notice that buses run on the main road for all places in Delhi/New Delhi every five minutes.
But it is rather strange to note that the Government has not provided enough bus stops to cover all the apartments and colonies, on the road. The residents have to walk more than 2 km to catch a local bus. The hiring of a rickshaw or a three-wheeler is very costly for a common man. The chilly or the hot rough weather other puts the passengers in a great problem. This also wastes the time, energy, and stamina of the residents. For lady passengers, it is not advisable to walk long distances from a safety point of view.
No financial burden will be passed on to the government by making more bus stops keeping in view the necessity and the convenience of the residents. Being a fully residential area, it is necessary to provide bus stops at all the appropriate points in this area.
I hope the authorities would definitely consider our difficulty and provide enough bus stops for the convenience of the passengers. It will provide relief to all of us as moving long distances of about 2 km in winter and hot sun is very troublesome and tiresome.

The electricity board has installed poles on either side of the road to supply light to the residents, but just poles are not the electricity. The civic authority is lacking in providing basic amenities to the residents. During these days of winter, after seven, it is pitch dark.
In addition to accidents, cases of thefts and robberies can also not be ruled out. Darkness may lead to any kind of mishappening. It may also be stated that many residents return to their homes at late hours the night. The residents pay house tax to the Municipality regularly but facilities of street lights are denied to them.
The matter was taken up with the authorities time and again; every time mere assurances were given but the problem persists in the same way as it was. I hope that if the letter is published in your esteemed newspaper, the authorities shall be awakened from their slumber, and the problem will be finally solved.

Nowadays, the number of beggars has abruptly increased. Everywhere in the city markets, parks outside a restaurant, or even in the streets you will find such obstinate beggars. The pity is that most of them are physically fit but begging is their profession. Some of them might be involved in other offenses also.
Some of the beggars suffer from highly infectious diseases such as leprosy, TB, etc. it is necessary that those such cases be taken care of and treated in General Hospital, and other able-bodied beggars are taken to task. Either they should do the given jobs or they must be punished by the Government, and they should not be allowed to make begging their profession.

Family Planning is the greatest need in India. After China, India is the largest populated
country in the world. Like other developing counties, India too faces problems of unemployment, poverty, and ignorance. The increasing number is the root cause of all these problems confronting the country.
This growing number has become a matter of great anxiety both for the planner and for the national leaders. A small family is a boon whereas a big family a curse. Family welfare leads to the welfare of the country. We should have children by choice and not by chance. The desire to beget a male child leads the parents into a jigsaw. The time is not far when they will have to be content with one child whether male or female.
Scientific methods, such as the use of contraceptives, vasectomy, etc. to keep the population under control are known to everybody. T.V., radio, and newspapers carry on propaganda for family planning voluntary organizations which can best hit the target. Mahatma Gandhi advised self-control. Late marriage is another remedy suggested by some. The fact remains that the increasing numbers must be checked otherwise the writing on the wall is very much clear.
